When kids learn to read might be a tough journey for some children.  All of the pressure from the adults can put a damper on the thrill for the kid.  This loss of enthusiasm can end up in a young person who loses the need to read. 

If we as parents can learn methods to make reading fun and pleasant, our kids will be more willing to sit and read a book together.  Here are some ideas you can do to make reading fun for your kid.  Uh oh reading is a superior way for a teenager to be ready to read the words he / she knows and pass on the words that are causing disappointment. 

While reading a book together, each of you take a turn reading out loud.  When the one that is reading asserts the word popcorn, it is the other folks turn to read.  Reading mate method is when you couple your reader up with an older reading mate and have them read a book aloud together.  We all had times where a rationalization of something made more logic coming from one of our peers or a sibling.  This gives your young person the opportunity to put into practice reading without an adults watchful eye causing likely tenseness.  After all the words your youngster knows are highlighted on the page, take a second and have your youngster look and see how many words he / she’ll essentially read.  This is kind of a confidence shot.  Take a flashlight with you and read the book by flashlight.  Small boys particularly like this one.  More on reading help.

Secret Hideout technique is when a kid has not constructed a fort at one prior point or another?  If you don’t have recently got a fort in your home or outside in the yard, help your kid create one.  It can a blanket fort, a plywood fort outside, a tree house, or maybe an easy under to bed fort.

Pick one word that your child especially has a heavy time with and each time your youngster reads that word, both of you stand up.  This works particularly well with kinesthetic learners.  A kid who wants to move all the time and likes to touch and feel everything.  Star of the story have you seen a customised story book where your kid’s name is released in the story?  This is an absolutely unique system to get your unwilling reader excited about a book.  In these sorts of books, your child’s name and the name of their chums are published in the story-line, making your kid the star of their own book!  How motivating is that?  He or she’ll need to read the book to discover what kind of journey he or she is going to be going on.
