I picked up some good vacation ideas recently!

Even though the economy is bad, we still need a little vacation now and then. I’ve been doing some research into saving money while still having a nice trip. I’ve been checking out some of the online travel websites. It seems that they all find very similar travel deals when searching for plane fares and hotels.

I can recommend a good website that will lead you to good deals on hotel reservations. Basically you want to use a travel website that has a reputation for providing a trouble-free vacation. Then I was thinking about where to go where it’s easy to find good prices on air travel or where I can drive my car. One obvious choice is Southern California. There are several airports and lots of activities for all seasons of the year.

A lot of vacation ideas are provided at the SoCal Vacation Guru site. It focuses mainly on Orange County and Los Angeles County, but will eventually expand to provide more information on San Diego County and the Inland Empire desert and mountain areas as well. But there’s great information about Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, the beaches, shopping, dining and other activities. There are discussions about saving money and how to arrange for the best trip if you only have a limited amount of time.

If you are a roller coaster fan, the SoCal Vacation Guru compares the major southern california theme parks on their thrill rides (Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott’s Berry Farm win in that category). In fact there are few places in the country where you can visit a half-dozen theme parks within a couple of hours drive from each other.

The SoCal theme parks include Disneyland (with Disney’s California Adventure), Knott’s, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios Hollywood, SeaWorld and Legoland. Of course visiting all of those would not be particularly cheap, but you could fit a lot of vacation fun into a short period of time, so you might save on airfare and hotel reservations.

Winter and Spring are probably good times to schedule a vacation, as the crowds are often lighter then at many Southern California vacation destinations. Compared to other parts of the US, the winter and spring weather in California is very reasonable.

Also, it looks like the economy has a lot of hotels really wanting our business. We might get better deals now if fewer people are taking rooms and buying tickets to theme parks. Anyway, just some things to consider as we live with the recession.

Don’t Make Weight Loss and Diet Difficult

The problem with anything that is too difficult in our busy lifestyles is the fact that eventually we will stop doing what we perceive to be too hard and look for alternatives that are easier.

It’s not that we are inclined to give up when the going gets tough; It is because there are generally easier alternatives these days due to the advances that have been made over the years and in particular with weight loss there have been many advances in both nutrition and fitness training. So get ready to lose weight!

Unfortunately most diets are just too difficult for people to maintain for any length of time and that is why the failure rate is so high.

Where there are two alternatives for you to lose weight (provided of course they are genuine weight loss opportunities) then you should generally look towards the easier option as this will be the one that you will be able to continue using long enough to get your desired results. There is an idiot proof diet.

You should not feel as though you are on a diet because that in itself often means you are working hard to achieve something.

Just the word diet in itself instantly strikes fear into the minds of many people because so many times in the past they have tried various different diets and not had any long term success.

You should think more in terms of making small adjustments to your lifestyle as this is a better alternative than to think you are on a ‘diet’.

For many people ‘dieting’ is rejected in their minds eye as being something unpleasant that is hard to endure.
Improving your nutrition and fitness is not nearly as difficult to maintain as ‘dieting’

Focus on lifestyle changes rather than a reduction in food and you won’t feel like you are having to give something up that you probably enjoy.

The more difficult you make your diet the less likely you are to stick to it and succeed.

If you are constantly having to think about your diet throughout the day and keeping account of all the foods that you eat and the calories that you are counting then it becomes very difficult to maintain for the long-term and eventually those types of diets result in failure for most people.

By keeping your weight loss program simple you are going to achieve a lot better results because it allow you to get on with enjoying everyday life without having to think about food and cutting back on your food for all of your waking hours.

Even mention of the word diet has negative effects for many people because it immediately places restrictions on their lifestyle.

There are enough things to contend with in modern day life without having to constantly keep a track of what you’re eating although you do need to be aware of the types of food and the portions that you are consuming because this is what determines whether you gain or lose weight.

Healthy weight loss can be achieved quite simply by just reducing by small amounts the portions that you have at each meal even if you don’t change the types of foods you are eating.

This is generally the best way for people to start dieting as it doesn’t require anything that is too difficult and too hard to maintain for enough time to see results.

Once people see results from the weight-loss program then there is an incentive to carry on and do better and particularly if these results have come about by using simple techniques that haven’t burdened the enjoyment of life.

Before you start on any diets consider the consequences and how it will impose on your life and whether you have the type of personality that will allow you to maintain what is required for that particular program.

General health and safety

The next step for organisations requiring professional health and safety

General health and safety goods / services.

Currently organisations go to a number of suppliers for their health and safety products and services (sometimes as many as 15 different suppliers). Today’s world demands a more efficient model. Hence the HSP (Health safety and protective) superstore has come into existence.

Many organisations are now exploiting these new HSP Superstores as: they offer huge economies; their ability to offer 360 degree support within the domain of health, safety and protection 24 hours a day is unprecedented; and their level of skill in the HSP domain is hard to rival. Combined these reasons make an extremely compelling case for using them as opposed to a number of suppliers that are out of sync and all need management (tremendous internal effort and expense).

Personal Health and safety - “No more excuses” they have a number of the best products to protect you and your family at home. Products include: first aid kits, fire extinguishers, fire blankets, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and anti-flood damage devices.

Workplace health and safety - all employers have a duty of care as regards the health and safety of their employees, documented legal and unwritten moral codes underpin these responsibilities. HSP superstores also have a first-class training functions that vends best in class training.

For example: Fire safety, First Aid, IOSH Training, NEBOSH Training and many other courses are usually available for a number of areas. All of which will be delivered by professional, experienced and qualified trainers/consultants.

HSP Superstores can usually offer a consistent high level of service because they utilise a business model that allows them to use the best resources which intern means the client gets the best advice money can buy at a competitive rate.

Portugals Algarve - Apartments Galore

For some time now Portugal has been the understated chique of Vacation Holiday Accommodation in the Algarve ! and although many holiday visitors have heard of the airport Faro, its not that well known of where the airport actually is located !

The country of Portugal has a rich history and stretches in length almost all the way down the west side of Spain. Not directly classified as being on the Mediteranean the Southern end of Portugal known as The Algarve does enjoy the warm sunshine renowned for the southern parts of Europe and the Mediteranean.

As such, the whole area is one vast devlopment of luxury apartment complexes, gated villa resorts and lovely townhouses that many Europeans have been quietly buying as holiday homes for the past 20 years.   Compared to the Spannish Mediteranean resorts, Portugal remains to its routes in style and countryside besides some notorious developments such as Villamoura which cater to the jet set lifestyle of the rich and famous.

The private pools usually found within the holiday resorts and private villa locations tend to be on the larger side as compared to Spain, and the number of top quality Golf Courses squeezed along the Algarve certainly gives Spain a run for its money too !  With the ocean providing a better  atmospheric condition throughout the year than Spain, the golfing tends to be enjoyed around the year to its full as the Algarve tends to have less rainfall during the year compared to places like Marbella Spain.

If its sailing that you are after… beware, firstly the coastal waters are not calm like the Mediteranean. . . as such, navigating the ocean is a totally different excercise and therefor carries a different set of requirements for renting sail boats or charters !

If you plan on taking a sailing course in Portugal . . then you will need to be able to speak Portugese as well as write it, as the ecxamination papers are in Portugese and the examiners refuse to speak any other language.

Without a Portugese Sailing Licence nobody will let you charter / hire a boat either !  so my advice is for all those sailors looking to try out the great sailing off the coast of the Algarve - better to go find a beautiful Apartment Rental in Tenerife or go USA and enjoy the oceans over there instead !

Moving Truck Rental: Stress Free and Simple Moving with Kids

Moving with your children can be stress free and easy as long as you have the basics of your move coordinated before the big day. Renting a moving truck is a necessity. A moving truck rental businesses generally offer several sizes of trucks from which you can choose. You can also choose whether you want truck rentals for moving or two-way truck rental. Depending on how far you are moving, one-way truck rental may be the only option because returning the truck would be a big inconvenience. If you are only moving within the same town, however, it may end up saving you money to go with two-way truck rental.

Make sure you know exactly when and where the truck has to be returned, and whether or not it is up to you to fill the gas tank before returning it. Be sure to compare the prices of several different businesses in order to find cheap truck rental. By renting a truck that is the right size, you eliminate the need for multiple trips. It is easiest to load all of the large furniture pieces into the truck first, with smaller objects closer to the door. This way, you make sure all your big pieces get stored securely. Look for trucks that come with a ramp for easy loading. It is also useful to have straps and blankets to help secure and protect the objects you are moving. Often times, these can also be rented at the same place you get the truck.

For the smoothest move, it is important to keep the children busy. If they are too young or small to help with loading and unloading the truck, find other tasks for them to complete, such as getting people water or directing people where to go. It might also be a good idea to keep some of their favorite toys easily at hand in case they run out of things to do. Older children can certainly help with the moving process by packing boxes, or loading and unloading the truck.

By keeping the children involved, they are less likely to be in the way or complaining. Plus, the more people helping, the faster things will get done. Even if they are only capable of carrying small items one at a time, they are still being more helpful than if they were not helping at all. So remember to keep them involved and keep your move stress free.
